The delayed start of the Bathymetric Survey by the 12 meter Catamaran ‘NORFOLK SWIFT’ can be expected to start shortly
‘NORFOLK SWIFT’ is now in Whitehaven and will begin survey operations as soon as weather and conditions are favourable, this survey will cover specific areas of the Wind Farm Site and depending on weather and condition will last for approx. 14 days
Please note that as ‘NORFOLK SWIFT’ will be following pre-determined transecting lines while using highly sensitive Multi Beam Echo Sounding equipment a wide berth, minimum 500 meters, is requested at all times whenever the vessel is on site, passing vessels are requested to reduce speed if possible.
A listening watch will be kept on VHF Channels 16 & 12 and ‘NORFOLK SWIFT’ can be contacted for information relating to vessel movement only
Whilst on-site ‘NORFOLK SWIFT’ will be operating on a 12 hour daylight only basis and will use Workington as the port of operation

FISHING INSIDE THE WIND FARM
For more information on the boundaries of the 50 metre Advisory Safety distances please ensure that you have the latest KIS-ORCA information installed - this can be downloaded from www.KIS-ORCA.eu
Please also consult the MMO website : https://www.gov.uk/guidance/
If fishing inside the Wind Farm you are advised to use Dhan Buoys anchored towards the middle of the lane with a long weighted feed line rather than Marker Buoys that can be moved by the strong tides and so foul the Turbines.
